Daryl Christine Hannah was born on December 3, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois.
Daryl attended the University of Southern California and made her film debut in
the Brian De Palma film "The Fury" (1978). After delivering a remarkable
performance in "Blade Runner" (1982), Daryl achieved full stardom with her
winsome portrayal of a mermaid in "Splash" (1983).
Not all of Daryl's subsequent film assignments have been as successful, though
she was highly praised for her interpretation of a nerdish hairdresser in "Steel
Magnolias" (1989) and was treated kindly by the press and public for her
characterization of the title character in "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" (1992).
In 1994, Daryl Hannah won the Jury Award from the Berlin International Film
Festival for Best Short for a film titled "The Last Supper", which she wrote,
directed and produced.
